To celebrate Lloyd Austin’s historic achievement as the first African-American Secretary of Defense in the United States, we’re throwing it back to the 90’s with a vintage hoodie from his former defense contractor employer!
This company has long been a trailblazer of equality in the war profiteering industry. In 2002, it was among the first U.S. companies to offer domestic partner benefits. In 2005, it became the first defense contractor to win a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign for providing protections to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. And in 2019, it completed a $1.5 billion sale of precision guided, air-to-ground munitions to the Saudi Arabian government, which is primarily led by people of color.
This hoodie reminds us that no matter your race, sexuality, or gender, you can build a career on the mass murder of women and children abroad. Grab one before their legal team sends us a cease and desist letter!
All proceeds will be donated to community organizations in Minneapolis, see which ones here.
